Holy basil, also known as Tulsi or African Blue Basil grows wildly throughout India. It is one of the most highly regarded herbs in that country and has more than 5000 years of recorded use. Energetically Holy Basil Tulsi is believed to help maintain the balance of chakras, or energy centers in the body, and to bring out the goodness, virtue, and joy in humans.

Ocimum tenuiflorum is lightly sweet, spicy, and flavorful. A fragrant herb similar to cinnamon with a hint of zest.
